
art-K Henleaze is an art club for children aged 6 to 18 and adults based in Bristol. Using a wide range of mediums and techniques, the club aims to teach children a diverse range of artistic styles as well as 3D projects.
We’re looking to find a passionate, motivated and friendly Workshop and Party Leader to join art-K on a fixed term contract from 13/7/2026 to 6/9/2026 during the summer holidays to both lead and assist in workshops and lead parties.
Job responsibilities
Work in a fun, club environment with high teacher-student ratios where children are enthusiastic about art.
Run workshops and parties or, if the branch manager/part time teacher is in, assist running workshops and parties.

Workshop Leading/Assisting
As a Workshop Leader, you play a crucial role in ensuring the success of each workshop session as well as the pre-workshop set up & tidy up.
Class preparations will include, but not limited to:
Laying out materials
Talking through aims with assistants
Sharpening pencils
Washing paint brushes
Cutting out templates
Prepping materials
Ad hoc studio and admin tasks to support the studio
Ad hoc other
Teaching the class will include, but is not limited to:
Discussing techniques needed to complete a project with the students.
Demoing the techniques when required.
Keeping the students engaged on the project & providing alternatives when required.
Ensuring the learning aims are achieved.
Adhering to the safeguarding policy and maintaining the health and safety policies in the studio.
Creating a safe, happy, nurturing environment for students to thrive in during their workshops with art-K.
Maintain the studio’s upkeep, which includes:
Washing tables
Hoovering/mopping the floor
Cleaning the bathroom
Maintaining hygiene for safe use of the space by students
Party Leading/Assisting
As a Party Leader, you play a crucial role in ensuring the success of each 2-hour party session as well as the pre-party communication, set up & tidy up.
Have face-to-face training on the summer workshop programme.
Communication and Coordination:
Engage with parents to coordinate and plan each party, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Studio Setup and Ambience:
Create an ambient studio environment for the party
Setting the music up
Preparing the projects in alignment with the birthday person’s requests and the company’s procedures regarding birthdays
Clean-up:
Maintain high cleanliness standards by tidying up the studio after each class, leaving a welcoming space for the next session.
Requirements
Minimum of a second-year student in an Art-related university course.
Art skills in a range of mediums
Experience teaching/ working with children
Positive and proactive attitude
Someone who lives within 30 minutes of the branch

Schedule: 40 hours week, 8.5 hours a day including 30' unpaid break
Salary: £13.92 per hour Leading rate / £8.79 - £13.64 per hour Assisting rate.
If you are scheduled to lead a party, you will receive the Party Leader rate for that 3.75 hr session. Party Leader rate: £22 per hour
If you are scheduled to assist a party, you will receive the Party Assistant rate: Workshop Leader rate + 25% (calculate based on band)
