About the Company

We are supporting an established UK transport and engineering business with a varied workshop operation. Accurate maintenance records, organised paperwork and clear communication help its technical teams keep vehicles and equipment ready for work.

The Role

We are looking for an organised Workshop Administrator who enjoys keeping information accurate and helping a busy team stay on track. You will provide administrative support across workshop activities, bringing together paperwork, maintenance information and updates from technical colleagues.

This is an administration role within a practical engineering environment. You will help ensure that records are easy to find, outstanding information is followed up and workshop colleagues have the documentation they need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise workshop paperwork, maintenance records and supporting documents.

  • Record updates from workshop colleagues and follow up missing or incomplete information.
  • Help coordinate the flow of information between workshop teams.
  • Maintain an orderly filing system so documents can be retrieved when needed.
  • Check records for accuracy and flag discrepancies to the appropriate colleague.
  • Support day-to-day administration and respond to routine internal enquiries.
  • Handle workshop and business information carefully and confidentially.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Good organisation and the ability to manage several administrative tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail when entering, checking and maintaining information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Confidence working with documents, records and routine office systems.
  • A reliable approach to following up tasks and meeting agreed deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently while keeping colleagues informed.
  • Willingness to learn workshop terminology and administrative processes.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in workshop, fleet, transport or engineering administration.
  • Experience handling maintenance paperwork, job records or service documentation.
  • Experience coordinating information across operational teams.

Candidate Profile

You take pride in getting the details right and making information easy for others to use. You are approachable, comfortable asking questions and persistent when a record needs completing. You enjoy supporting practical colleagues and bringing order to a varied workload.
