In this role, you'll:

As part of the Road Maintenance and Resilience Division, this hands‑on leadership role oversees the delivery of safe, efficient, and high‑quality road construction and maintenance works. You’ll lead and support a frontline team, coordinate resources, manage daily activities, and ensure strong compliance across safety, environmental, and reporting requirements.

You’ll work on a new project within a fast‑paced construction program, offering variety, challenge, and exposure across both project delivery and day‑to‑day operational activities. The role also includes participation in an on‑call roster, responding to incidents and operational needs as required.

You will proactively manage risk, monitor performance and safety outcomes, and support Managers and Engineers with minor works, estimating, and contract management to ensure delivery to required standards and timeframes.

Overtime and additional allowances may be available from time to time, subject to operational requirements and eligibility.

About you:

You bring experience in civil construction, road maintenance, traffic management, or a similar operational environment, with the ability to understand and work from project, construction, and contract documentation. You’re comfortable leading crews and supervising both in‑house and contractor teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality outcomes.

You communicate clearly, approach challenges constructively, and contribute to a positive and respectful team environment. Your practical, hands‑on leadership stylehelps build strong relationships on site and supports teams to perform at their best.

You’ll also hold relevant trade qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience, along with any required tickets, licences, or certifications needed to work on agency projects.
