In this role, you'll:


be responsible for providing a multidisciplinary works delivery capability in a specialist trade/engineering discipline. The Works Supervisor Level Two is expected to lead a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of road maintenance and construction works to ensure delivery in accordance with time, quality and scope requirements.

Reporting to the Project Engineer, the Works Supervisor plays a key role in the planning of works delivery, as well as allocating and coordinating resources across work teams to ensure works and minor projects are delivered in line with agreed time, cost, quality, safety standards and targets. You will be a critical link between the Project Engineers and roads crews, coordinating multiple work crews including both direct control teams and contractors.

Some of your key accountabilities will include:

• Managing team and individual performance and provide guidance and training.

• Tracking daily activities including compliance, work health and safety and environment

• Managing the risks of assigned work by coordinating the collection, analysis and reporting of performance and safety measures

• Implementing TfNSW WHS, Environment and Quality Management Systems on site.

• Supervising, managing and surveilling multiple specialist contractors on site.

• Providing direction and guidance to direct control and contract resources conducting construction work on site.

• Ensuring appropriate safe work processes are implemented on site

• Liaising with internal and external teams on site to deliver the desired project outcomes.

This is an ongoing full-time role located at Bowenfels.

You will be required to work outside of normal working hours, and you will also be required to travel throughout the region and work at locations away from home on occasion. Allowances relating to working away from home and accommodation apply.

TfNSW take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be eligible for this role it is a requirement that you must reside within 80 km of Bowenfels Depot.

About you


You have demonstrated experience with of civil construction and maintenance works

You have demonstrated ability to analyse project, construction and contract documentation.

You have experience in leading crews to deliver road maintenance and minor works projects supervising direct control and contractor teams.

You are an effective communicator with proven interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills and are able to successfully manage crews to operate in a harmonious, productive and well-planned manner.

You have the ability to manage the allocation of resources to meet work objectives and monitor outputs to ensure resources are utilised productively and efficiently.

Your ability to work collaboratively, lead by example and influence others will inspire crews to be innovative and strive to achieve the best outcome for Transport for NSW and its customers.

You hold a current Construction Industry White Card and a current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver’s licence.

You possess trade qualifications and/or equivalent experience and current licences/tickets in a field relevant to Agency works.
