Job Description

You are looking to embed yourself in projects of different sizes and become part of a team that's shaping the landscape across NSW.

You've been developing your skills and are ready to work on projects that matter to the people of NSW. You know that quality matters and that delivering results requires a great team.

In this role, you'll:

Be part of the Road Maintenance & Resilience Central West Construction team in Orange, helping to deliver safe, high‑quality civil works across the region. You’ll contribute to major safety upgrades, including work within the $181 million Towards Zero Safer Roads Program—improving road safety outcomes for regional communities. You’ll be part of a dedicated work crew that includes a team leader, road workers and plant operators. Depending on the location of the work site accommodation will be provided, along with a Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA) and renumerated overtime may also be offered depending on project needs.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring work crews meet the required WHS, environmental, traffic, and quality standards. This includes providing guidance on safe work practices, supporting accurate documentation, and helping maintain consistent work processes. You’ll verify that construction activities meet specifications by following established procedures, carrying out measurements, checking against plans, and completing essential safety and quality records. You’ll also support capability building within the team by encouraging consistent workflows, promoting continuous improvement, and modelling strong WHS awareness and risk‑management behaviours.

You hold a current NSW Industry White Card and an unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence, and you take pride in following safe work practices, maintaining attention to detail, and contributing to reliable project outcomes.

You understand how quality assurance, good process, and solid documentation contribute to the final product, and any experience you have with WHS or quality systems will be highly regarded. Experience with traffic control or construction plant is also beneficial, though not essential. To support operational and fatigue management requirements, you’ll need to live within 100km of the Orange Works Depot Above all, you’re motivated by meaningful work that helps improve safety and resilience across the region’s road network.
