As an Workplace Solutions Operational Risk Lead Manager within our diverse and inclusive Workspace Solutions Team, you will have the opportunity to promote and instil a strong culture of operational risk management. You will join a team of risk & compliance professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience who collectively ensure that the Firm’s Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) Management Framework is implemented and functions effectively within Workplace Solutions. We are looking for an Operational Risk Lead Manager who is a solution-oriented, customer-focused specialist, used to working in an agile environment. The role is global in nature with oversight for North America, EMEA and Asia business activities.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in change management and new business initiatives to identify and assess risks, challenge the proposed control environment, and recommend approval (or not) of the change.
Provide oversight on risk assessment for operational risks in Workplace Solutions (business units, regional and legal entity levels)
Prepare materials for regional board meetings, control committees / forums to inform on the outcomes of Operational Risk Management activities
Assist in developing testing activities using a risk-based approach, and oversee the execution of proposed testing
Perform assessments of areas of emerging risk or potential control gaps to identify issues for the business to remediate, documenting and sharing analysis with key business stakeholders
Engage with global horizontal risk programs (e.g., Business Resiliency, Third-Party Outsourcing, Data Management) to ensure that business practices remain in line with firmwide changes;
Review operational risk events that resulted in financial losses to assess and challenge root cause analysis, recurrent themes and remediation, and drive value-added changes;
Support Operational Risk engagement in regulatory deliverables (e.g. MFSA and FINRA), including targeted exams;
Promote cross line of business consistency and adoption of best practices collaborating with other Operational Risk colleagues, as well as control functions such as Investment Risk, Legal, Compliance
Promote and instil a strong culture of Operational Risk Management, collaborating with the business and second-line functions to continually improve operational processes, support safe business growth, and inform and influence risk-based decision making
