Job Description

Hutcheon and Pearce

Workplace Health & Safety Manager

Full-Time

Shared Resource Office

At Hutcheon & Pearce, the safety of our people comes first. Our teams work in hands-on, operational environments every day supporting customers across agriculture, construction, and forestry, and we are committed to ensuring every person goes home safely at the end of each day. As one of Australia’s leading John Deere dealerships, we know that achieving this requires strong leadership, practical safety systems, and a culture where safety is part of how we work.

We’re seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Manager to lead safety across our organisation. This role suits someone who understands operational businesses and can partner with leaders to embed safety into everyday decisions. This is more than compliance, it’s a chance to shape culture, strengthen our systems, and drive meaningful improvements across a growing regional business. Strong connection with our branches is essential, with regular travel and proactive engagement at the heart of the role.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you will:

  • Provide practical WHS guidance that supports safe and effective operations.
  • Lead the development and improvement of WHS systems, policies, and procedures
  • Support leaders to identify, manage, and reduce workplace risks
  • Oversee incident investigations and ensure meaningful corrective actions are implemented
  • Manage safety reporting, audits, and compliance across multiple locations
  • Oversee workers compensation and return-to-work programs
  • Deliver the annual WHS plan and safety initiatives
  • Develop and support the safety team while building safety capability across the business

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who understands that effective safety leadership comes from working with the business, not policing it.

You will bring:

  • Formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in a similar WHS leadership role within an operational or blue-collar environment
  • Strong risk assessment and incident investigation capability
  • The ability to influence leaders and build strong working relationships
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to improving safety outcomes

Why Join Hutcheon & Pearce?

  • Be part of a respected and growing regional business
  • Work closely with leaders who value practical safety solutions
  • Influence safety outcomes across multiple branches and teams
  • Help shape a strong and proactive safety culture
  • Competitive salary and tool of trade vehicle.

If you’re passionate about improving safety in operational environments and enjoy working alongside leaders to create practical, lasting change, we’d love to hear from you

Hutcheon & Pearce

About Hutcheon & Pearce

Hutcheon & Pearce is an authorised dealer for John Deere with 20 locations across NSW and over 70 years of experience. Our highly skilled team has extensive knowledge of agriculture, turf, construction and forestry.

At Hutcheon & Pearce we’re as linked to the land as you are. Family-owned since 1953, we’ve been working with farmers and machinery for three generations: our Service Centres service and support Agriculture, Turf, Construction and Forestry Machinery.

Our workplace is out there with your machine, whatever you’re farming. Our highly skilled team has extensive knowledge of farming industries and new and pre-owned parts & sales solutions to match. Whether you’re farming hay, livestock, dairy, horticulture, viticulture, dryland, corn, cotton, orchards, rice, forage or silage, or you're in turf, small acreage, construction, or forestry, we can advise you on the right gear to keep you moving.

The Hutcheon & Pearce difference is about providing you with three things that make a big difference to your bottom line:

Lowest total cost of ownership

Like you, we take the long view. Our machines offer the lowest total cost of ownership because “Nothing runs like a Deere”. Our extended service intervals, competitive parts pricing options, in-house finance and industry leading resale value means you’re investing in quality that pays. We also offer machine rental for peak periods or when you’re a machine down.

Integrated technology

Technology is the future of farming which is why it is at our core at Hutcheon & Pearce. John Deere integrated technology, or ‘Green on Green’ as we call it, means every piece of your system talks to each other.

Seriously good service and support

We do whatever it takes to keep you moving. We have a large support network of trained field technicians, 70 vehicles and a dedicated TECSight® Remote Support team to help you maximise your uptime.
