YOUR TEAM

To support our development team for a high performance computing & integration ECU, we are currently looking for a working student. In your role you get first-hand experience in advanced system development and become an integral part of our team. Our main focus is on developing and optimizing vehicle software for the central ECU – a key component enabling seamless communication and connectivity across the premium vehicle platform within the Volkswagen Group. Our team covers the full spectrum of modern automotive development, including: E/E Architecture, Automotive Bus Communication, In-Vehicle Diagnostics & Update, Safety & Security and Testing.

By joining us, you will gain hands-on experience working on a central component of premium vehicles. You will collaborate closely with experts across multiple automotive domains and develop deep insights into connectivity, diagnostics, security, and update mechanisms.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and improve a multithreaded logging tool in C# to improve the team’s analysis capabilities
  • Refactor and modularize existing components
  • Automate log analysis and performance tracking
  • Analyze performance of Android-based systems using Python
  • Enhance configuration and error handling
  • Develop and refine data pipelines and AI workflows for advanced big-data analysis
  • Verification and validation activities directly on premium vehicles

WHO YOU ARE

  • Enrolled student in the area of Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields
  • Solid knowledge of C#/.NET and multithreading
  • Python skills for data processing and performance analysis
  • Interest in embedded systems and diagnostic tools
  • First experience with microcontroller- and android-based microprocessor-systems
  • Structured mindset and curiosity for complex systems

NICE TO KNOW

  • Remote work options within Germany
  • Duration: 6 months (with the option to extend up to two years)
  • 20 hours/week, up to 35 hours/week during the semester break
  • Salary: 17,80€/hour
