Our mission has started. We are starting our own battery cell production in Battery Valley in Salzgitter and ramping up our headquarters for global cell production. The Procurement department is the interface to the supplier market and is thus responsible for a large part of the value creation. The responsibilities range from raw material purchasing to supplier management and plant purchasing to value engineering.
Gain an end-to-end view of Procurement and Supply Chain operations through active involvement across all Procurement departments, building an understanding of critical processes, dependencies and resilience drivers. Identify, structure and evaluate AI and GenAI use cases based on business value, feasibility, risk, scalability and their potential contribution to supply chain resilience. Develop business cases for AI initiatives, including expected benefits, implementation effort, dependencies, resilience impacts and success measures. Support the Procurement AI Champions community and connect business requirements with relevant experts and stakeholders to accelerate innovation and organizational resilience. Contribute to AI governance and Responsible AI activities, including documentation, guardrails and risk-aware implementation that supports resilient and sustainable business operations. Strengthen Supply Chain Business Resilience by identifying critical suppliers, processes and dependencies, assessing disruption risks, and supporting the development of mitigation and continuity measures. Analyze data quality and identify improvements required for reliable AI, analytics and automation, enabling data-driven risk management and resilience monitoring. Support the analysis and automation of Procurement processes, increasing efficiency, transparency and resilience while contributing to measurable process improvements.
Students pursuing a degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field. Strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex topics into structured recommendations. Very good English skills, at least B2 level; German is an advantage. Initial academic or practical experience with AI, GenAI, data analytics or automation. Confident use of standard Microsoft 365 applications, Copilot, prompt engineering and automation tools.
Strong communication skills and confidence in working with diverse stakeholders. High level of initiative, ownership and willingness to learn. Innovative mindset combined with a pragmatic, value-oriented approach. Interest in Procurement, digital transformation, governance and responsible technology use. Ability to work in a structured way in a hybrid and cross-functional environment.
