Currently we’re looking for a Working Student (m/f/d) for Engineering Toolchain Automation and AI-Assisted Development in Vienna for 20 hours per week (part-time).

What do you contribute? Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

  • Develop and integrate control systems for metro vehicles, including traction, braking, and automatic train control systems.
  • Support customer projects throughout the entire development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to testing and commissioning.
  • Contribute to research and development activities focused on next-generation rail solutions.
  • Design and implement tools, scripts, and automation solutions to enhance engineering efficiency.
  • Maintain and further develop Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and test management templates (e.g., Polarion).
  • Participate in occasional business travel for customer meetings, supplier coordination, and vehicle commissioning activities.

Your qualifications

  • You are a student in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Practical experience in software development and proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Interest in DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern engineering workflows.
  • Enthusiasm for developing tools, scripts, automation solutions, and AI-assisted engineering approaches.
  • Knowledge of railway technology, control systems, PLCs, or function-block programming is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills in German and English (minimum B2 level); corporate language is American English.

We offer an attractive compensation package aligned with your qualifications and professional experience. The annual gross salary according to the applicable collective agreement starts at EUR 42,137.48 (based on full-time employment).
