Be part of our Civil and Structural Engineering team and help shape the future of offshore wind. As part of RWE's central engineering function, you will support our global offshore wind business throughout every stage of the project lifecycle. Together, we deliver innovative engineering solutions that drive the energy transition, continuously pushing boundaries and setting new standards across the industry.

About the role

  • Conduct research on the structural integrity and fatigue assessment of offshore wind foundations, including the analysis of residual stress measurements, corrosion effects, and preparation of technical summaries to contribute to ongoing research projects (e.g. Wind-ProLife)
  • Collaborate with RWE testing laboratories by reviewing corrosion test data from long-term offshore wind projects, evaluating results, documenting findings, and preparing technical summaries for internal review
  • Assist with engineering activities across offshore wind projects, including the evaluation of WTG foundation primary and secondary steel fabrication and design, while coordinating with engineering teams and providing technical input
  • Develop and maintain a centralized engineering database, linking and organizing key technical documents across multiple offshore wind projects such as Thor, Nordseecluster, and OranjeWind
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, structuring, and implementing best practices across projects

Job requirements and experience

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline
  • A strong interest in offshore structures, including structural design and manufacturing, in-service structural integrity assessment, engineering data management, and technical project support
  • Ideally, previous experience in Offshore Structural Engineering through internships, working student positions, or academic projects
  • A proactive and reliable working style, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a confident approach when collaborating with different stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications and the ability to quickly learn and apply new digital tools
  • Fluent English and German skills, both written and spoken
