Job Description

The Working Foreman/Detailer performs dual responsibilities, acting both as an on‑tools journeyman sheet metal worker and as the on‑site leader responsible for supervising crews. The role includes producing or reviewing accurate detailing for fabrication and installation.

Pay: 74.89/hr. The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

1. Field Work as a Journeyman (Working Foreman Portion)

• Perform hands‑on sheet metal installation, fabrication, and system layout.
• Ensure all field work follows approved drawings and sheet metal scope.
• Assemble, installation, dismantling, alterations, and setting of equipment as required

2. Crew Supervision & Worksite Leadership

• Direct daily tasks of sheet metal workers.
• Delegate tasks based on skill level.
• Adjust plans for delays.
• Inspect daily work for compliance.

3. Detailing Responsibilities (Detailer Portion)

• Produce or revise shop drawings, BIM/CAD models, and fabrication drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers.
• Update drawings for RFIs and changes.

4. Project Coordination

• Maintain manpower, tools, and materials.
• Lead coordination between field and office.
• Provide takeoffs and material lists.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Promote safe use of equipment and PPE.
• Ensure compliance with SMACNA standards and Local 105 rules.

6. Training & Mentorship

• Mentor apprentices and journeymen.
• Support skill development in layout, fabrication, and blueprint reading.

• Journeyman-level sheet metal worker experience.
• Prior detailing experience preferred.
• Proficient in CAD/BIM platforms.
• Strong leadership skills.
