Piedmont Technical College Workforce Innovation / Continuing Education Division seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants for adjunct (temporary, part-time) positions to teach Life & Leisure public offering courses at the Lex D. Walters Campus in Greenwood and/or our county campuses in Laurens ,Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, Newberry, and Saluda, or at various sites within the communities we serve.
Life & Leisure courses provide opportunities for community members to explore personal interests, develop new skills, and enjoy lifelong learning. Course topics may include, but are not limited to, culinary arts and cooking, baking and cake decorating, arts and crafts, photography, music, gardening, beekeeping, woodworking, home improvement, automotive maintenance, health and wellness, fitness, outdoor recreation, sewing, quilting, needle arts, technology for everyday use, personal enrichment, youth camps, and other hobby, recreational, or special interest subjects. Individuals with expertise in a particular hobby, trade, craft, or area of personal interest are encouraged to apply. If you are unsure if the subject you would like to teach is included in this posting, please speak with a member of the Workforce Innovation/Continuing Education staff. Schedules will vary depending on course type and needs. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis.
Minimum requirements are dependent upon the area of instruction. Generally, applicants should possess demonstrated knowledge, experience, or expertise in the subject area they wish to teach. Formal education, certifications, licenses, professional experience, or a combination of relevant experience may be considered based on the course topic.
Previous teaching or instructional experience is preferred but not required.
