Workforce Development Specialist (Instructional Designer)

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Designs and supports training and educational programs focused on technical skills, professional development, and employee orientation.
- Designs and develops internally created learning solutions using a variety of modalities and methods, including classroom, e-learning, and blended learning, along with associated instructional and classroom support materials.
- Applies instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and presentation techniques to enhance learner engagement and effectiveness.
- Partners with subject-matter experts to ensure accuracy, relevance, and content familiarity across assigned courses and learning materials.
- Designs and aligns assessments to evaluate learner knowledge, skill acquisition, and understanding of new content.
- Assists in identifying new and emerging training needs across the organization.
- Assists in ensuring learning content aligns with legal compliance requirements of policies, plans, and procedures.
- Complies with all safety and health programs in support of an incident and injury-free workplace.
- Complies with cybersecurity protocols and practices to guard against digital threats and maintain a secure and resilient operating environment.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Who You Are:
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant work experience as an Instructional Designer in a corporate learning environment. A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, technology education, organizational development, or a related field is preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of and experience applying adult learning theories, individual culture, and learning styles, needs analysis, learning objectives, application exercises/interactivity, learning assessments, and course evaluations.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), friendly and supportive customer service skills, willingness to engage in difficult conversations while demonstrating professionalism, and the ability to remain flexible and balance multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team—demonstrate trustworthiness, dependability, and accountability (self and team).
- Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) / Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification, and/or executive coaching certification is valued.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
