Workforce Development Specialist (Corporate Trainer)

Our award-winning corporate university at Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist (Corporate Trainer) to coordinate and deliver enterprise-wide learning curricula to our employees.

You will have the opportunity to work on learning projects from beginning to end as well as participate in project teams managing the communication, coordination with instructional design, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of learning curriculum.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Delivering internally developed and vendor-based learning utilizing a variety of delivery options including classroom, e-learning, virtual, and blended learning
  • Facilitating team-building courses
  • Facilitating active training techniques such as role-playing, simulations, and group discussions to enhance adult learning
  • Utilizing a variety of presentation tools and techniques to enhance adult learning
  • Assessing the needs of internal customers in a collaborative effort and differentiating performance issues from learning needs
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of learning through pre and post-training assessments and performance relative to desired outcomes
  • Providing feedback to learners, team members, and internal stakeholders
  • Recommending and implementing changes to learning programs as appropriate

Who You Are...

  • Relevant and progressively responsible training/facilitation experience, preferably in a corporate learning environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Leadership/Management, Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field is valued
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) / Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification is valued
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying the competencies necessary to perform in each of the following areas are valued: learning design, improving human performance, delivering training, performance consultation, measuring/evaluating training, project management, career planning, and talent management
  • Knowledge of and experience applying adult learning theories, individual culture, and learning styles, needs analysis, learning objectives, application exercises/interactivity, learning assessments, and course evaluations
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), friendly and supportive customer service skills, willingness to engage in difficult conversations while demonstrating professionalism, and the ability to remain flexible and balance multiple priorities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
