The Workforce Strategy and Planning Unit (WSPU) provides statewide leadership in cross‑sectoral health workforce strategy, policy and planning, including medical workforce policy and strategy, to build a sustainable, skilled and future‑ready workforce for Tasmania. The Unit delivers integrated, evidence‑based workforce planning aligned with service and infrastructure planning, leads implementation and monitoring of the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan, and ensures alignment with national workforce reforms and priorities. The Workforce Planning Team is responsible for the delivery of strategic, integrated workforce planning that is aligned with the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan 2025-2030.
This position supports integrated workforce planning and monitoring through a combination of strategic planning, data analysis and reporting. It contributes to the development of long‑term and annual workforce plans, applying planning tools, frameworks and modelling to support workforce supply and demand, while ensuring alignment with health system priorities and service needs. The position analyses and manages workforce data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities, supports monitoring and evaluation activities through reports, dashboards and key metrics, and prepares clear, evidence‑based briefings and planning materials for decision‑makers. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the position helps ensure workforce planning and monitoring activities are responsive, data‑driven and support sustainable workforce models and effective service delivery.

2x Permanent full-time day worker positions available, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

$102,027 to $106,985 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
