Job Description

NextGen is seeking a highly motivated Workflow Validation/Field Enablement Engineer to support the testing, validation, operational assessment, and field enablement of agentic AI workflows deployed across tactical and operational environments. This role focuses on validating AI-enabled workflows, ensuring operational reliability, supporting user acceptance activities, and enabling end users to effectively operate AI-assisted tools within mission environments using ReadiChat.

ReadiChat is a mission-focused, agentic AI platform designed to help organizations build, deploy, govern, and scale specialized AI agents for operational workflows. It combines AI agents, workflow orchestration, grounded knowledge, testing frameworks, and enterprise controls into a single collaborative workspace.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in operational testing, workflow validation, systems integration testing, user training, and field support. This role requires close collaboration with AI engineers, integration teams, mission stakeholders, and operational users to ensure AI-enabled workflows are safe, reliable, explainable, and mission-effective across edge, tactical, and disconnected environments, including deployments on the X9 Spider Mission Computer architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain end-to-end validation plans and operational test strategies for agentic AI workflows across local tools, edge-deployed models, MCP services, and external mission systems.
  • Develop and execute regression test suites supporting prompt updates, model changes, MCP server modifications, X9 Spider hardware and firmware updates, workflow revisions, and published agent releases.
  • Define and document pass/fail criteria for operational AI workflows, including correctness, reliability, safety, latency, explainability, usability, and mission effectiveness.
  • Validate guardrails, operational boundaries, tool-use behavior, and workflow reliability under adversarial, malformed, degraded, and realistic field-operational input conditions.
  • Execute workflow acceptance testing and operational validation activities on the X9 Spider Mission Computer and related edge-compute platforms.
  • Capture, organize, and maintain validation evidence, test results, issue tracking, operational observations, and supporting artifacts required for customer review, accreditation, and signoff activities.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers, integration teams, and operational stakeholders to identify workflow deficiencies, troubleshoot failures, and support corrective actions or workflow improvements.
  • Validate workflow interoperability across AI agents, edge models, MCP services, reporting systems, mission applications, and operational command environments.
  • Support operational demonstrations, field exercises, user evaluations, and mission rehearsal activities involving AI-enabled workflows and edge-compute systems.
  • Train operational users and customer personnel on the effective use of AI agents and workflows in field environments, including workflow execution, output interpretation, operational limitations, troubleshooting basics, and uncertainty escalation procedures.
  • Develop quick-reference guides, workflow playbooks, field-user instructions, troubleshooting aids, and operational support materials tailored for mission users and technical administrators.
  • Establish and maintain user feedback mechanisms and operational reporting processes for capturing workflow deficiencies, inaccurate outputs, usability concerns, and missing operational capabilities.
  • Support DevSecOps, release validation, and operational readiness activities associated with deployment and sustainment of AI-enabled workflows and edge-compute applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Operations Research, Human Systems Integration, or related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting operational testing, systems validation, workflow assessment, field enablement, or mission-system evaluation activities.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, regression suites, validation procedures, or operational acceptance criteria for software-enabled systems.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled workflows, agentic AI systems, operational software applications, or edge-compute platforms.
  • Experience documenting test results, operational findings, and workflow deficiencies in structured and repeatable formats.
  • Experience supporting end-user training, operational onboarding, or field enablement activities.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting software, integration, and operational workflow issues in tactical or enterprise environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work directly with operational users and technical teams.
  • Active Security Clearance is required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting tactical, airborne, or edge-compute operational environments.
  • Familiarity with X9 Spider Mission Computer architectures or similar operational compute platforms.
  • Experience validating AI-enabled applications, workflow automation, or agentic AI systems.
  • Familiarity with MCP services, operational APIs, external system integrations, or mission-command systems.
  • Experience supporting operational demonstrations, Soldier Touch Points (STPs), developmental tests, operational tests, or field exercises.
  • Familiarity with disconnected, degraded, intermittent, and low-bandwidth (DDIL) operational environments.
