Job Description

Client: Our Client

Position: Workflow Solutions Engineer

Our Client is hiring a Workflow Solutions Engineer to join their Solution Engineering team — a hands-on, post-sale builder who turns signed deals into shipped integrations. If you love being in the work (APIs, Postman, TypeScript, messy customer environments) and you bring real networking chops, this seat is for you.

About: Our Client is building the operating system for Communications Service Providers — the telcos and ISPs powering how the world connects. Their platform handles billing, operations, and automation across the stack, and it's the modern, customer-obsessed alternative to legacy telco software. The team is fully distributed, founder-led, and relentlessly transparent, with a culture built around real ownership and genuine care for the people doing the work.

About the Role: You'll report to the Director of Solution Engineering and partner directly with customers after a deal is closed — scoping their network and business requirements, designing the right implementation, and building it. Your days will live inside Our Client's TypeScript workflow engine, customer APIs, and Postman, with occasional pull-ins to pre-sales. The internal benchmark is a "full-stack" solution engineer: scoping, solution design, integrations, implementation, testing, demos, and lifecycle support — all on one plate.

This isn't an architect-only seat. Our Client wants someone who's earned the credibility to own customer conversations but is still genuinely energized by writing and testing the work themselves.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with new customers post-signature to translate their business and network requirements into concrete implementation plans on Our Client's platform
  • Build customer-specific configurations — workflows in Our Client's TypeScript-based workflow engine, integrations with customer and third-party systems, and API work
  • Work hands-on every day with APIs, Postman, TypeScript, and workflow/data node creation — write it, test it, ship it
  • Manage scope conversations in both directions: holding customers accountable to their commitments and keeping internal teams on track
  • Partner with Engineering and the PMO to keep implementations moving, project-managing deliverables on the customer's behalf
  • Step into pre-sales conversations occasionally to help shape solutions, even though post-sale is the center of gravity
  • Stay involved with accounts after go-live for ongoing lifecycle work and support

Qualifications:

Must-have

  • 5+ years in a hands-on technical, customer-facing role (Solution Engineer, Solutions Architect, Implementation Engineer, Integration Engineer, Customer Engineer, or Professional Services Engineer)
  • Real working understanding of networking concepts — the deepest must-have here
  • TypeScript fluency — comfortable building and modifying workflow logic; doesn't need to be a senior software engineer, but must be genuinely productive in TS
  • A hands-on, in-the-work attitude — APIs, Postman, debugging integrations, digging into how customer systems actually behave
  • Integration and systems-design thinking — you can reason about how systems talk to each other, sequence integrations, and design workflows that survive real environments
  • Customer-facing chops — can run scoping calls, manage expectations, and negotiate scope with external stakeholders
  • B2B background (pure SaaS not required)
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada or the U.S.

Nice to have

  • Telco or networking domain experience — direct telco background is the bullseye, but vendor-side companies that sell into carriers (Cloudflare, Cisco, etc.) are a strong substitute
  • Large-scale system architecture experience — not required, but a real edge when scoping complex customer integrations
  • Experience navigating large enterprise customers
  • Computer Science degree (signal, not requirement)

Additional Information: This role is fully distributed — open to candidates anywhere in Canada or the United States. Expect travel within the U.S. roughly every month to every other month for customer engagements. This is an individual contributor seat with no people-management responsibilities, and Our Client anticipates multiple workflow solutions engineering hires over time as the team scales.
