Change the world. Love your job.
Smart Manufacturing and Automation (SMA) at Texas Instruments is looking for a Workflow Automation Engineer who can fundamentally change how facilities operations run. This role sits at the intersection of deep facilities domain knowledge and sophisticated software engineering — you will work directly with operational teams to identify inefficiencies, design automated solutions, and build systems that scale across a global Facilities organization, including operations, engineering, ESH, and construction.
This role is not about automating tasks in isolation. It involves solving problems in complex operational environments, earn the trust of subject matter experts, and drive and implement workflow automation across systems.
About You
You are a strong software engineer energized by ambiguity. You can walk into a room with facilities engineers and operations specialists, ask the right questions, and leave with a clear picture of what needs to be built. You don’t just write code — you understand the business problem deeply enough to know when a simpler solution beats a clever one.
You are self-directed. You find automation opportunities others miss, propose solutions before anyone asks, and take ownership of outcomes from design through deployment. You stay current with emerging technologies — including agentic frameworks and AI tooling — not because it’s trendy, but because you know how to apply them where they genuinely move the needle.
