Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable, flexible, and self-motivated individual for a Workers’ Compensation Case Manager position to manage and coordinate care for employees with work-related injuries or illnesses. This position is open to Registered Nurses (RNs) and other licensed medical professionals with relevant experience in workers’ compensation, case management, or occupational health. The Case Manager serves as a liaison among injured workers, medical providers, employers, and insurance partners to ensure appropriate care, regulatory compliance, and timely return-to-work outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases from initial injury through claim resolution
  • Coordinate medical treatment, care plans, and follow-up with providers
  • Communicate with injured employees, supervisors, insurers, attorneys, and vendors
  • Monitor medical progress, work restrictions, and treatment effectiveness
  • Facilitate return-to-work and modified duty programs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state workers’ compensation laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of claims and case management
  • Review medical records, treatment plans, and functional capacity information
  • Identify barriers to recovery and proactively address delays or complications
Qualifications
  • Active clinical license as one of the following (required):
    • Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
    • Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
    • Athletic Trainer (ATC)
    • Other licensed healthcare professional with relevant workers’ compensation experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in workers’ compensation, case management, occupational health, or related clinical setting
  • Strong communication, organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize independently
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Case management certification (CCM, CDMS, CRC, or equivalent), preferred, not required when hired, but expected to be obtained within 18-24 months
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and documentation skills
  • Professional, critical thinking approach when working with injured employees
