Davies North America is seeking a Worker's Comp Claims Assistant to support our claims operations team in our Reno, Nevada office. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient claim administration by providing clerical, administrative, and customer service support to adjusters, supervisors, and claims leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced claims environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process claim notices received via phone, email, fax, and other communication channels.
  • Establish new claim files and enter claim information into internal claims management systems.
  • Route claim assignments to appropriate adjusters and teams.
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation, records, and electronic files.
  • Assist adjusters with claim-related administrative tasks and follow-up activities.
  • Process incoming and outgoing correspondence related to claim files.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and electronic communications.
  • Upload, index, and organize claim documentation, reports, photos, invoices, and other supporting materials.
  • Maintain claim registers, logs, and internal tracking systems.
  • Prepare and distribute claim-related correspondence and reports.
  • Perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support claim teams with document preparation, scanning, filing, copying, and records management.
  • Assist with check requests, payment processing, recoveries, and reimbursement documentation.
  • Prepare reports and provide administrative support to claims leadership as needed.
  • Coordinate office workflow activities and support special projects.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries from policyholders, claimants, clients, vendors, and business partners.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Escalate issues and urgent matters to the appropriate claims professionals.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and timely follow-up.

Skills, knowledge & expertise

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of administrative, clerical, customer service, or insurance-related experience.
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including:
    • Outlook
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Professional and customer-focused approach to work.
  • Prior experience in insurance, claims administration, or a related professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with claims management systems and document management platforms.
  • Experience handling confidential information and sensitive documentation.
  • Experience supporting adjusters or claims professionals.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
