Freshfields is seeking a skilled Workday Integration Developer to join our growing Application Platforms team. If you’re passionate about building scalable and smart solutions, and want to help transform the future of HR technology in a people-first environment, this is the role for you.
About the Role
As a key technical member, you’ll support, configure, and optimise our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system across multiple functional areas including Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Learning, Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll help drive our HR technology landscape forward.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain integrations (APIs, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, RaaS, Studio/Orchestrate)
Manage integration flows for data movement between HR platforms and downstream systems (Payroll, Finance, IAM, PDW/PDS, People Entity Service, etc.)
Oversee API management (SOAP/REST, authentication models) and coordinate with vendors on technical advisories
Operate and resolve technical issues with the integration platform
Deploy integrations to external applications and data warehouses
Act as subject matter expert for Workday, translating user stories into system requirements
Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues, and implement corrective actions
Perform release management, including regression testing and resolving break/fix issues
Collaborate with enterprise architecture (identity/SSO, data flows, security posture)
Guide and mentor HRIS team members
Manage encryption, PGP, secret management, private endpoints, and network rules
Perform regular audits, validations, and system maintenance to ensure data integrity
Stay up to date on Workday releases, industry trends, and best practices
Support training and change management efforts for Workday application enhancements
Requirements and Qualifications
Proven experience with Workday Core HCM and related modules
Strong understanding of HR processes and data flows
Expertise in Workday Reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Composite), EIBs, and calculated fields
Experience with Workday integrations (Studio, Core Connectors, etc.)
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Commitment to data integrity, confidentiality, and continuous improvement
Workday certification and global team experience are a plus
Preferred
Workday certification in one or more functional areas
Experience working in a global team environment
