Workday HCM Functional Consultant
This role will support the maintenance and optimization of our Workday ecosystem. Responsible for assisting with functional support, with an emphasis on complex reporting and security architecture within our core HCM modules including Compensation and Benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Test: Support the modification and testing of complex Business Processes.
Impact Assessment: Conduct thorough "Downstream Impact Analysis" to ensure BP changes don't disrupt integrations, notifications, or reporting.
Optimization: Raise any identified bottlenecks in current workflows and propose streamlined solutions.
Complex Builds: Develop advanced reporting using multiple business objects including Staffing, Worker, Compensation, and Benefits.
Logic & Calculations: Proficiency in creating Calculated Fields (Lookup Related Value, Evaluate Expression, True/False logic).
Data Relationships: Understanding of joining multiple Business Objects and navigating the Workday data model.
Understanding & experience in applying the Workday Security model, with focus on:
Domain Security Policies (who can see what).
Business Process Security Policies (who can do what).
Intersection Security: Managing the overlap between organizational roles and functional access.
Data Loads: Experience executing updates using EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builders).
Core Comp Configuration: Updates to Job Profiles, Grades, Grade Profiles, Salary Ranges, and Equity targets. Familiarity with Eligibility Rules, Allowance Plans & Bonus Targets
Building Compensation Planning, Calibration grids
Support the maintenance of Benefit Plans and Enrollment Events
Experience building Passive Events (age-outs, eligibility changes) and troubleshoot processing errors.
Assist with resolving enrollment discrepancies and third party integration errors.
Technical Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years of hands-on Workday functional experience.
Modules: Proficiency in Core HCM, Compensation, and Benefits.
Tools: Mastery of EIBs and Workday Report Writer.
Critical Thinking: Ability to "reverse engineer" a problem—seeing a reporting error and tracing it back to a BP or security configuration issue.
Soft Skills for Offshore Success
Communication: Solid English verbal and written skills for clear documentation.
Overlap Availability: Willingness to provide a few hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time Zone for stand-ups and hand-offs.
Self-Starter: Proven ability to work independently and manage tickets through queue
