The Workday Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the hospital’s Workday Financial Management platform. This position ensures the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of all financial system processes by managing configurations, troubleshooting issues, coordinating enhancements, and collaborating with stakeholders to maximize system utilization. The role requires advanced technical aptitude, a strong understanding of accounting and finance processes, and the ability to translate operational needs into effective Workday solutions.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Maintenance

  • Represent the Finance team on Workday governance calls and projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory and departmental policies.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and high-level administrator for the Workday Financials system, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Customers, Expenses, Projects, and related modules.

  • Run applicable Workday utilities and processes to maintain system performance and data integrity.

  • Monitor system integrations, troubleshoot errors, and coordinate fixes with internal teams and vendors.

  • Manage configuration updates, testing, and deployment for new functionality or process changes.

Process Support & Optimization

  • Partner with Finance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and other departments to analyze workflows, identify process improvements, and implement Workday enhancements.

  • Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytics to support operational and strategic decision-making.

  • Ensure alignment of financial configurations with organizational policies, compliance requirements, and best practices.

  • Coordinate with vendors and IT resources to resolve technical and functional issues.

Training & End-User Support

  • Provide ongoing technical support for Workday Financials end users, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and process guidance.

  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to increase user adoption and system efficiency.

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and new module implementations.

  • Assist in business process re-engineering and workflow optim

  • Work with IT and other Workday analysts on integrations with third-party systems.

  • Create process flows and provide status updates on projects and system changes.

  • Collaborate across departments to gather requirements, test configurations, and validate system changes.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Create and maintain standard and ad-hoc Workday Financial reports and dashboards.

  • Assist the Finance team with EIB creation, allocations, and custom reporting.

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, exceptions, and process improvement opportunities.

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by ensuring accurate system functionality and reporting.

  • Create and maintain testing trackers, testing scenarios, and training documents.

Experience

  • Experience as a Workday Financials functional analyst, administrator, or similar role preferred.

  • Strong understanding of finance, procurement, and accounting processes.

  • Proficiency in financial data analysis and reporting.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Licensure/Certifications

  • Workday Certification preferred.
