
Work study student employees are representatives of Mayo Clinic, working cooperatively with all Mayo Clinic staff, external clients, students, and advisors. The student will report to and receive direction from assigned department supervisor. Work study employment provides students having an interest in a healthcare career and who view Mayo Clinic as an employer of choice an opportunity to explore our culture, gain field experience, and pursue their career goals.
Within the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP), you may assist our laboratory personnel in aliquoting, preparing, and centrifuging biological specimens collected from patients, various clerical tasks, and other laboratory duties that include maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, cleaning, or special projects. Program participation may lead to future career development opportunities.
Work study employees are responsible for indicating changes in financial aid award to their assigned supervisor, as well as the work study liaison. The work study employee schedule will be arranged collaboratively between the work study employee and assigned department supervisor. The schedule will be in compliance with the financial aid award amount and minimum hours per week (10 hours) requirements.
Work locations may be in the Hilton Building in downtown Rochester, or at the Superior Drive Support Center located in NW Rochester. Students will need transportation to the work site.
