Outwood Academy Newbold is rated Good, with Outstanding leadership by Ofsted and we are based in the large, friendly, Derbyshire town of Chesterfield, near Derby and Sheffield.
We recognise a child’s time at school is irreplaceable and that education provides the bedrock for success in every area of life. This is why we take a holistic view to student development, placing equal value on vocational, practical, creative and academic ability.
Since joining the Outwood Family in 2015, we have been on a journey of transformation and improvement, which has seen our results improve, but more importantly we are delighted that after its latest inspection of the academy Ofsted noted that ‘parents, staff and pupils are positive about the changes that have been made to the school.’
We believe our success speaks for itself as we are above the national average for the number of students achieving at a Grade 5 or above in English & Maths GCSEs. We are also proud to have been awarded Gold Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.
Our knowledge-rich curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility.
We believe we are on a journey to Outstanding. Help to take us to the next level.
We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.
All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.

We are a dynamic organisation, recognised nationally as one of the highest performing family of schools in the North of England, and we currently sponsor over 40 schools.
Our educational blueprint has been developed through leading and supporting schools over many years.
We have used this successful blueprint to sponsor academies and have a transformational effect on children’s life chances within very quick timescales.
We feel strongly that academies should enhance the education provision of the community they serve, in addition to driving up standards and playing a central role in regeneration. This is because we believe that improving the life chances of young people is essential to developing a strong local and national economy.
We are now comprised of over 40 schools who work together to ensure that all children, irrespective of their starting point, receive an excellent education. We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of children in our care, including the most vulnerable or challenging.

We are an award-winning multi-academy education trust with passion, purpose and people at our heart. We manage 41 transformative primary, junior, secondary and Post 16 schools up and down the North of England, from Redcar to Nottinghamshire, each celebrating very different identities but driven by a shared vision. Each academy is individually shaped around the community and children it serves.
