In this role, you will:

The Work Health & Safety Practitioner will be responsible forsupporting the delivery of functional Work Health & Safety (WH&S) management across all project and business division activities. The role contributes to the ongoing maintenance of risk management processes by assisting with safety policies, protocols, and procedures.


Additionally, the role supports the coordination and delivery of safety policy training, across project activities, on behalf of the NSW State Government (ensuring compliance with the Rail Safety National Law/Work Health and Safety Act/Work Health and Safety Regulations/Heavy Vehicle National Law, and other applicable codes of practice).

Duties & responsibilities will include (not limited to):

  • Delivering assurance and compliance activities across CG Operational Branches, including implementation of the WHS assurance plan, audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Supporting the Health & Safety Senior Manager and Senior H&S Partners/Advisors with reporting and insights for supported business areas
  • Providing responsive support on ad hoc and emerging issues, including assisting with incident investigations, managing urgent risks, and addressing stakeholder health and safety queries

This role reports into the Senior Manager for WH&S.

About You:

For you to be successful within this role you should meet all, or most of the following criteria:

  • Circa 2-3 years experience in a similar WH&S role
  • A professional qualification, and/or certification within health & safety
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build effective relationships. You can bring a proactive, energetic approach, and a genuine passion for driving meaningful safety improvements

Nice to Haves:

  • Understanding of health and safety in an Operational environment

This is a permanent, flexible hybrid role with your base office located in Macquarie Park This is a Grade 7 role, paying between $121,175.00 -$135,716.00 + super
