Workers Compensation Claims Administrator

Location: Winnemucca, NV (On-Site - Living Expenses Paid)

Type: Contract | Long-Term Project Assignment

Pay Rate: $47.58/hour

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Claims Administrator to support a large industrial construction project in Winnemucca, Nevada. This role will oversee all aspects of the project's workers compensation program while assisting with auto and other insured claims. The ideal candidate will have strong workers compensation claims experience, knowledge of EHS and OSHA practices, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment. This is a fully on-site position requiring travel and rotational project work schedules. Living expenses are covered during assignment rotations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage workers compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution.
  • Investigate claims, determine eligibility, and maintain accurate claim documentation.
  • Communicate with injured workers, medical providers, insurers, attorneys, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor claims activity, conduct audits, and identify trends impacting project performance.
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and workplace accommodations.
  • Maintain claims data within the Risk Management Information System (RMIS).
  • Provide workers compensation training and support compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with subrogation matters, litigation support, and other insured claims, including auto claims.
  • Partner with insurance carriers and medical providers to ensure effective claim management and resolution.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations to support project risk management objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in workers compensation claims or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of workers compensation claims administration and occupational rehabilitation.
  • Experience handling workers compensation claims in an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements related to workplace injuries and claims.
  • Experience with claim resolution strategies, litigation processes, and legal principles.
  • Working knowledge of bodily injury and first- and third-party property damage claims.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Typing proficiency of approximately 45-65 WPM.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large construction, mining, energy, or industrial projects.
  • Experience with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).
  • Familiarity with return-to-work and occupational health programs.
  • Experience supporting litigation and discovery activities.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Work Schedule & Project Perks

  • Fully on-site in Winnemucca, Nevada.
  • Typical schedule: Monday through Saturday, approximately 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Saturday hours are paid at overtime rates.
  • Rotational schedules available:
  • 3 weeks on / 1 week off
  • 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Private lodging accommodations provided.
  • All meals, snacks, beverages, laundry services, and living expenses covered during rotations.
  • Daily transportation provided between housing and the project site.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Candidates with workers compensation claims administration experience in construction, mining, manufacturing, industrial, energy, or other high-risk environments will be especially successful in this role. Strong knowledge of EHS, OSHA compliance, return-to-work programs, and claim investigation is highly desired. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47.58 - $47.58/hr.
