Job Description

The Woodwinds Area at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Woodwind Area, Student Assistant We’re looking for a creative and responsible individual to support initiatives within the Woodwind Area This position reports to the Program and Administration Manager, Mannes School of Music and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in the orchestral or classical music-related field.

This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with rehearsals and scheduling of Woodwind area activities.

  • Liaise and coordinate with the College of Performing Arts Production Office and Library as needed.

  • Assist in Master Class coordination and promotion

  • Assist with Departmental activities in coordination with Co-Chairs and as assigned by the Program & Administration Manager.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current student in the Woodwinds area (BM, MM, or PDPL in Orchestral Instruments, with a concentration in Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, or Bassoon).

  • Previous administrative experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current student in a College of Performing Arts degree program

  • Recipient of Federal Work Study award

WORK MODE

  • On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI

SALARY RANGE

Hourly Rate: $17.00

Hours per Week: 1-2 hours per week on average (estimated 20 hours per semester)
