We need an entry-level Park Attendant responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Woodmere Park facility and grounds. In this position, you will help to set up chairs and tables for events and rentals as well as maintain the cleanliness of the restrooms, park grounds, and facility. The ideal candidate possesses basic knowledge of maintenance equipment and has excellent customer service. If you have prior experience with minor repairs or operating a floor cleaning machine, that's a bonus! The pay starts out at $17.34/hr (step 1), benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are numerous opportunities for advancement. This role is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all areas inside and outside at Woodmere Park, including court areas, playground, and shelter. Examples of job responsibilities can be found below.
Janitorial Service on Park Grounds and Inside the Facility:
Clean, weed, and maintain grounds, play areas, and court surfaces.
Pick up and remove trash from all grounds, courts, shelters, and areas.
Rake playgrounds and other areas as needed.
Trim, irrigate, and maintain all plant bed areas.
Maintain and clean interior and outdoor facilities, to include rest rooms, weight room, gymnasium, meeting rooms, kitchen area, and offices.
Remove trash to the dumpsters.
Operate Park Equipment:
Operate equipment (mowers, weed whackers, floor machines, pressure washers, lighting mechanisms and timers, hand tools, computers, locking mechanisms).
Keep all work areas clean and safe.
Ensure accurate operating and maintenance records.
Maintain equipment and materials, and initiate and follow through with service requests.
Perform daily safety inspection of all areas, including daily playground inspections.
Obtain necessary training.
Customer Service:
Provide customer service to all users, including but not limited to opening/closing the facility.
Act as a liaison with users to ensure proper maintenance and preparation is scheduled and performed, and ensure security at the facility(s).
Event Assistance:
Help to set up and clean up events/programs.
Provide janitorial and misc assistance, as needed, for special functions.
Work Hours:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Must be available Tuesday- Saturday
Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, on-call, scheduled events, emergencies, etc.
On occasion may be asked to help at varying Park locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent education.
Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with small tools and lightweight maintenance equipment.
Prior Floor Cleaning Machine experience.
Playground Maintenance training.
First Aid CPR/AED Certified.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
Physical Demands: This position must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. The employee will use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50(+) pounds.
Starting Pay: $17.34/hr (Step 1)
