Job Description

The Locker Room Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for members and guests entering the Women's Locker Room. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment while providing exceptional service, administrative support, and operational assistance. The Receptionist manages locker assignments, member inquiries, appointment scheduling, retail transactions, and communication between departments while ensuring a seamless and elevated member experience.

Successful candidates demonstrate strong hospitality skills, professionalism, organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to East Bank Club's standards of excellence.

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour. This position is considered entry level.

Part-time Schedule:

Sunday: 6:45am-2:00pm

Monday: 3:00-11:00pm

Tuesday: off

Wednesday: off

Thursday: off

Friday: off

Saturday: off

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Service & Hospitality

  • Greet members and guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through prompt, courteous, and personalized interactions
  • Anticipate member needs and provide accurate information regarding Club services, amenities, programs, and policies
  • Build positive relationships with members through consistent engagement and excellent service
  • Handle member concerns, requests, and inquiries professionally, escalating issues when appropriate
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding member information at all times
  • Professionally enforce locker room policies, procedures, and Club guidelines

Reception & Administrative Operations

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and member inquiries
  • Schedule and manage appointments, reservations, and service requests as required
  • Maintain accurate records of locker assignments, rentals, relocations, cancellations, and waitlists
  • Process member transactions, including locker rentals, retail purchases, and service-related payments
  • Assist with billing inquiries and communicate discrepancies to management
  • Support the Manager with clerical and administrative tasks, including correspondence with members and EBC staff

Locker & Member Account Management

  • Coordinate locker assignments, transfers, cancellations, and inventory tracking
  • Maintain accurate locker records and member account information
  • Assist members with locker-related questions and concerns
  • Monitor locker availability and communicate utilization trends to management
  • Support lost-and-found procedures and documentation
  • Help coordinate member amenity requests and special accommodations

Operational Support

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • Monitor inventory levels of office and member-use supplies and communicate replenishment needs
  • Conduct periodic walk-throughs of the locker room to identify service concerns, cleanliness issues, or maintenance needs
  • Collaborate with attendants, spa staff, housekeeping, engineering, and other departments to support daily operations
  • Assist with departmental communications, promotions, and special events
  • Support training efforts and serve as a resource for team members when needed

Professional Standards & Accountability

  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance in accordance with East Bank Club standards
  • Wear the required uniform and name tag while on duty
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all interactions
  • Maintain strong attendance and punctuality
  • Follow all East Bank Club policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook guidelines
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Manager, Director, or Club Leadership

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of computers, telephones, and office equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform occasional reaching, bending, kneeling, and light physical tasks.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in customer service, hospitality, front desk, spa, salon, private club, fitness club, or related environment preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and point-of-sale systems preferred.
  • Ability to remain professional, calm, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to creating a best-in-class member experience.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
