Our co-op placements provide you with an excellent opportunity to practically apply your classroom and technical training with an organization that is strongly investing in IT to help strengthen its position a leading, global reinsurer. While with our team, you’ll be; coached by experienced industry professionals, exposed to Munich Re leadership, challenged as a valuable team member and contributor doing meaningful work, and mentored to develop a solid foundation that will help position you as a future leader in the IT field.
Munich Re is operating under a hybrid working model, including an average of 2-3 days in office/week with the remaining days working from home. Students are expected to relocate to the city in which they work for the duration of their co-op, so they can fully benefit from the full program integration. This provides a great opportunity to network, develop soft skills and become immersed within the greater Munich Re culture; including engaging with your team while in-office for face-to-face meetings, sharing meaningful moments, and allocating time to connect with your Manager.
As part of the Global IT team, you will be assigned a variety of responsibilities based on demand and interest with focus on developing essential skills and competencies as an IT professional.
Note that work placements by department will be assigned closer to the term start date based on a number of factors, not limited to: your interest, skill set, and internal business needs. Potential departments could include: IT Solution Delivery, IT Data & Digital, and IT Enterprise Architecture.
Women in Tech Program Perks
Successful participants in the Women in Tech Program may receive a $1,500 (net) stipend upon successful completion of their work term, in addition to their regular co-op wages. Funds may be used toward tuition, student-related expenses, or debt repayment.
This program is designed to support women pursuing careers in technology. Participants will benefit from mentorship and networking opportunities with women leaders across the organization, as well as professional development experiences that help build valuable skills, connections, and career opportunities.

We’re looking for well-rounded individuals who are technically astute, have strong communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with teams and internal clients. Compensation for this position ranges from $1,200 to $1,500 per week. This range represents the typical compensation for candidates hired into this role. For eligible participants in the Women in Tech Program, the program stipend is provided in addition to regular co-op wages.
This role is located in our Toronto office on 390 Bay St, and we operate in a hybrid work model
