The WMS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse management system (WMS) operations while leading day-to-day warehouse support activities. This role combines operational leadership with technical expertise in Manhattan Associates SCALE WMS and related warehouse technologies to ensure system reliability, operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
The WMS Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between warehouse operations, IT, customers, and third-party vendors by supporting system implementations, configuration changes, troubleshooting production issues, training users, and driving continuous process improvement. This position also provides leadership to warehouse associates and support staff while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
Location: On-site, West Jefferson, OH
Schedule: Flexible onsite-schedule; ability to address challenges after business hours and weekends as needed. Standard Schedule: 7am - 4:30pm
Travel: Less than 10% domestic travel
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $72,000.00 annually, based on experience, skills, and education. Includes comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays
Key Responsibilities:
WMS Administration & Support
- Serve as the primary on-site resource for Manhattan Associates SCALE WMS and other warehouse applications.
- Configure and maintain WMS functionality based on business requirements and operational needs.
- Monitor system performance, integrations, RF devices, printers, and warehouse technology to ensure operational stability.
- Troubleshoot Level 1 and Level 2 WMS issues and coordinate resolution with internal SMEs, IT, and software vendors.
- Support WMS upgrades, patches, enhancements, and new warehouse implementations.
- Perform system configuration testing, integration testing, unit testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate system functionality and ensure successful deployment of enhancements.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation, data validation, and reporting using SQL.
- Support EDI/API integrations and warehouse automation initiatives.
Warehouse Operations Leadership
- Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, inventory control, replenishment, and material handling.
- Develop work schedules and assign daily tasks to maximize productivity and service levels.
- Monitor operational KPIs and labor performance to achieve productivity, quality, and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with operations management to improve warehouse workflows and system utilization.
- Coordinate startup activities, warehouse conversions, and client implementations.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop warehouse associates and WMS support personnel.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and employee development.
- Manage employee attendance, timekeeping, and payroll inputs.
- Conduct end-user training on WMS processes, RF devices, and warehouse procedures.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical documentation.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze warehouse processes and recommend improvements using Lean, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize warehouse workflows and system functionality.
- Participate in design reviews for system enhancements and operational improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, productivity, and customer service.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain audit documentation and support customer, regulatory, and internal audits.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence throughout the warehouse.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred.
- 3–5+ years of warehouse operations, WMS support, or supply chain systems experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or 3PL environment.
- Experience supporting or configuring Manhattan Associates SCALE WMS preferred.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes.
- Experience with WMS implementations, upgrades, conversions, or system enhancements.
- Experience supporting RF devices, barcode scanning, warehouse printers, and mobile technologies.
- Working knowledge of SQL for reporting and data validation.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and UAT.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and training abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience in food-grade or regulated warehouse environments.
- Experience with ADP eTime or other workforce management systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
