Primary Location

Epping, VICResponsible for Technical installation and commissioning activities on Wireless telecommunication sites to Carrier specifications and Service Stream's safety and Quality processes and procedures.

About the Role

Service Stream's Telecommunications Division are currently seeking Wireless Technician to join our team in Epping Vic.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location : Epping , Victoria
Reporting Line: Project Manager

About the Role

  • Work with the Crew Supervisor and project manager on creating an efficient way to complete the tasks
  • Maintain daily records of activities and times
  • Be responsible for technical duties on site including installation, commissioning and integration of RAN, TX and Microwave equipment on site to vendor and client specifications, TPG, Optus and eJV)
  • Carry out call testing, performance monitoring and other acceptance testing as per vendor and client requirement
  • Labelling and tagging identification on feeders, tails, jumpers and other cabling to client specifications
  • Assist with the installation of Microwave Antenna and Outdoor systems
  • Complete antenna sweeps for PIM, Distance-to-Fault (DTF), Standing Wave Ratio (SWR) and Return Loss (RL) for antenna systems to ensure specifications are within limits.
  • Assist rigging team as required.
  • Troubleshooting, fault finding, defect rectification works as required to provide a quality product to the client.
  • Inspect and maintain tools and equipment, ensure test equipment is maintained within calibration dates
  • Ensure the site is maintained in a clean, tidy and accessible state
  • Unloading, Inspect and receipt goods for suppliers and sites
  • Recovered equipment to be packaged for loading and return to client, including documentation requirements
  • Prepare Hand Over Pack (HOP) documents and artefacts for submission and acceptance
  • Full compliance with all HSE policies and procedures
  • Identification, analysis and mitigation of potential risk events including initiation of corrective action when required
  • Ensure the requirements of the Quality System, within areas of responsibility, are adhered to
  • $36.75 per hour plus super (as per enterprise agreement)

About You

  • 2+ years’ experience in 3G and 4G or 5G mobile network rollouts, projects in Australia.
  • Demonstrable skills in fault analysis/diagnosis and corrective actions to satisfactory conclusion
  • Familiar with installation standards or have strong technical background in telecommunications.
  • RF and Fibre Cable Testing, (preferred)
  • Experience with fault finding RTWP/MIMO/VSR issues an advantage
  • White Card
  • Familiar with WHS requirements and process for high risk activities
  • Occupational Health and Safety Induction (Construction Industry)
  • Elevated Work Platform Ticket (preferable)
  • Safe Work at Heights (preferable)
  • Senior First Aid, including resuscitation
  • EME Radiation Awareness
  • Medical clearance for work at heights (Preferred)
  • C class driver’s license (mandatory)
