We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as a Wireless IP Backbone Solution Architect reporting to the Manager Architecture – Wireless Core.
A bit about your role
The role is responsible for delivering Software Defined Networking solutions and designing routing infrastructure to support the Cloud Native Mobile Core for the Fixed Wireless network. This includes developing high‑quality technical designs, implementing automation frameworks, and establishing architectural guidance to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the Fixed Wireless IP Core Backbone infrastructure; translates complex business and technical requirements into practical, scalable, and industry‑aligned solution designs. You will be responsible for leading large‑scale routing and switching initiatives, support major technology migrations, and provide advanced troubleshooting expertise.
As a platform owner, you will be responsible for driving network evolution and lifecycle management, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise objectives. You will conduct Proof‑of‑Concept activities to evaluate emerging network technologies and contribute to the long‑term strategic roadmap.
You will work collaboratively with integration, delivery, and cross‑functional teams in an agile environment, promoting consistent design standards, strong documentation practices, and seamless end‑to‑end solution delivery.
A bit about you
The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on experience delivering solutions across large‑scale IP/MPLS backbone environments. They hold CCNP/CCIE‑level expertise and have proven working knowledge in the technologies of EVPN, Segment Routing, secure zero‑touch provisioning, automation tooling (Ansible, Python), Linux, and open‑source network interfaces like NETCONF and RESTCONF.
You are skilled in SDN design and lifecycle management, familiar with Scaled Agile delivery, and comfortable shaping network transformation strategies and integration patterns. Success in the role also requires excellent communication and influencing skills, the ability to simplify complex technical issues for diverse audiences, strong commercial acumen, and a proven track record working with multiple vendors to deliver end‑to‑end solutions. CCNP/ CCIE/ JNCIE-SEC certification is preferred.
