Position Title:Wireless Engineer, JourneymanLocation:Japan Locations: Kadena, Misawa, and YokotaSouth Korea Locations: Kunsan and OsanStatus:Full-Time, TemporaryFLSA Category:ExemptTribalco is seeking experienced Wireless Engineers experienced with WiFi surveys and designs to join our team in October of 2025. Site Surveys will begin at Misawa Air Base in Japan and may continue to South Korea upon completion of the work in Japan, in early January of 2026. Site Surveys will be completed in small teams of four engineers. Responsibilities

• Assists in implementation of architectural vision for all Wi-Fi access points and control-related services across BAN. Understands requirements, aids in optimal Wi-Fi designs for spectrum usage, device placement. Follows standards for all designs and implementations.
• Installs configures, and maintains wireless network equipment, network management and security including 802.11 b/g/n/ac standards and industry best practices for implementing high-density WIFI solutions.
• Conduct site surveys and wireless heat mapping to determine the best hardware and software components for network upgrades to ensure networks are reliable, efficient, and secure.
• Devise, plan, deploy, and improve wireless networks from the beginning to implementation by collaborating with vendors, managers, and network engineers.
• Performs with minimal direction from Lead Wireless Engineer or Engineering Manager
• Understand client requirements to be able to cater to their appropriate needs.
• Manage firewalls, such as Palo Alto, Juniper or Cisco ASA.
• Uses tools to evaluate, test, and tweak wireless products, such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges, VPNs, and network amplifiers.
• Design and validate the performance, quality, and reliability of the RF link.
• Design and implement WLANs and other wireless networks.
• Write manuals and document current network procedures.
• Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP).
• Self-Starter with assigned tasks.

• Experience with Ekahau AI Pro
• Experience with Ekahau Sidekick
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with their team and customers
• Working knowledge / general use capabilities of AutoCAD

Education and Certifications

• Certified Wireless Specialist (CWS) Preferred
• Security+
• Technical BA/BS degree with five years of experience or a high school diploma/associate degree with seven years of experience as a Wireless Engineer on large, complex programs
  

Clearance

• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
