Job Description

The Senior Wire Operations Leader is responsible for leading and evolving the bank’s wire operations function to support enterprise priorities, business growth, and merger & acquisition activity. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across wire processing, service delivery, risk management, and process optimization, while ensuring a strong control environment and regulatory compliance.

The leader will drive scalable change, identify and execute new opportunities to improve operational efficiency and client experience, and build a future-ready operating model that supports increasing transaction volumes, product expansion, and organizational transformation. This includes partnering closely with technology, product, risk, compliance, treasury, and integration teams to implement initiatives that align with bank objectives and strengthen operational resilience.

This position requires a strong balance of people leadership, strategic execution, and operational expertise, with a focus on modernization, continuous improvement, and readiness to support complex change across the enterprise.

Responsible for leading, managing, and developing a team of Production Managers, Business Analysts, and front-line colleagues who support Wire Transfer Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain operational standards, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate execution of Enterprise Payments operations, while complying with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare and present regular reports, metrics, and analysis on operational performance, risk exposure, and productivity to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including relationship managers, sales teams, product development, and technology teams, to support the successful implementation of new treasury management products and services tied to Wire Transfer Operations.
  • Build relationships and trust in order to ensure Enterprise Payments Operations is represented in Enterprise Payments strategy conversations.
  • Provide operational support and expertise for the development of payment settlement tied to new/existing payment channels and services.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in Enterprise Payments Operations in order to support the strategic growth of payments, TM Service Implementation, risk mitigation, and enhanced customer experiences.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies, reduce manual efforts, and optimize resources. This will be implemented by building new processes to support Huntington’s payment strategy, as we work towards increased share of wallet.
  • Drive scalable change with a focus on supporting an institution that is $500B in size.
  • Identify and execute new opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Partnering and driving technology changes as part of the business to enhance processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10 or more years of w ire transfer, operations, and/or payments experience
  • 5 or more years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry/Global knowledge of Enterprise Payment Operations
  • Experience with wire transfer products, services, and operations
  • Experience with DDA, General Ledger/exceptions account reconciliation processes
  • MTS Application experience
  • Familiar with ongoing trends/technologies in the emerging payments industries
  • Ability to lead diverse operational teams in order to support new and existing payment strategies
  • Experience and focus on modernization of production shop
  • Drive partnerships with senior level colleagues across various verticals that impact TM Ops
