
Leidos Antarctic Support Contract is seeking an experienced remote site manager to work in the US Antarctic Program supporting Palmer Station. The seasonal position requires deployment to Palmer Station for 6 months during the austral winter season. This is an alternate position and requires the same Physical Qualification and Extended Background Investigation requirements as the primary. In the event the primary cannot deploy, the alternate will be ready to take their place at any time leading up to and during the winter season.
The Palmer Winter Site Manager is a critical part of the Leadership team reporting to the Peninsula Area Manager. This position manages the activities and operations for Palmer Station during their deployment. The role deploys to Palmer Station during the austral winter and leads on-site activities there for six months. While deployed, this position is responsible for day-to-day operations in support of science, projects, and sustaining operations. They work to resolve resource conflicts on station to focus efforts on highest priority activities.

*** Deployment to Antarctica is required for this position - approximately 6 months per year during the Austral winter. The individual in the position must successfully complete the physical and dental examinations and Extended Background Investigations, as required by the NSF for deploying to Antarctica. Failure to meet these requirements may result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action.
Due to contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
Must obtain a Public Trust security clearance prior to start date. This process could take up to 4 months.

Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:
Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
