Position Summary

We are seeking a candidate who will support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that displays and proves an understanding of cultural fluency. The Winter Season Fit Club and Strength & Conditioning Coach will report to and be supervised by the Athletic Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, organize, oversee, and guide workouts for high school students in Fit Club (3:30-4:30PM) and Strength & Conditioning (4:30-5:30PM) Monday-Friday during the winter portion of the school year (November 16 through February 12, 2027).
  • Generate enthusiasm and pride among students in the program, attracting student participation across gender, domestic/international student background, and all types of fitness goals (e.g., base-level fitness, sport-specific strength & conditioning, etc.).
  • Teach movement fundamentals, proper form and techniques, and skills, motivating students through positive, age-appropriate methods.
  • Prioritize the health and safety of the athletes.
  • Work collaboratively and collegially with students, athletics coaches, athletic director, and faculty in the school community.
  • Understand and adhere to athletic department rules and regulations, and monitor student eligibility to participate.
  • Track student participation for PE credit record-keeping.
  • Communicate closely with Athletic Director regarding the program and equipment needs.
  • Communicate with faculty and parents, as needed.
  • Maintain and develop professional expertise and certifications.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

  • Certification in the field of fitness and strength & conditioning (CSCS or similar).
  • Experience programming and teaching fitness and strength & conditioning with varied ability levels and ages.
  • Clear Washington State Background check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR training.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift to 25 pounds in connection with job duties, such as assisting with setup or moving materials.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move comfortably on campus for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate uneven surfaces as needed between locations within and outside school buildings.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required at times.

Compensation

Rate of pay is $3,702-$4,968 for the winter season, depending on experience. This position is not eligible for health benefits.
