Job Description

Job Title: SMO Winter Lead Specialist

Rate of Pay: $18.50

Possible Shifts: 7 Days a Week. 8am – 6pm & 4pm – 10pm, Must be available weekends and holidays

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Interact with the guest in an outgoing and engaging manner and help guide the rental team under the direction of the SMO Manager to accomplish seasonal goals and direct the guest experience at the rental shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must have worked 2 years as a Rental Specialist level 2 or have previous experience equivalent to 2 years' experience in a rental setting.
  • Demonstrate a friendly, out-going personality and have a passion for creating significant experiences for our guests.
  • Assist in training SMO Specialist Level 1 & 2 in basic functions and responsibilities of their duties.
  • Help SMO reach its Service Standard goals and hold all other staff accountable for living these standards.
  • Uphold all Forbes service standards with every guest interaction.
  • Ensure all staff are consistently following liability protocol, that all forms are signed, filled out completely and correctly.
  • Perform point-of sale transactions and handle cash accurately.
  • Perform multiple transactions to include gift cards, vouchers, inter-department, returns, refunds & end of shift closing procedures.
  • Troubleshoot point-of-sale issues and coordinate with accounting when issues arise.
  • Lead Specialist must be able to hold staff accountable and enforce dress code
  • Effectively cross sell within SMO to include upgrade in rentals and cross-selling retail. Cross-sell other Sundance departments and activities.
  • Have basic understanding and ability to work with other departments and resolve concerns or accommodate requests.

RENTAL & SERVICES

  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of differences in levels and types of equipment.
  • Accurately size and fit rental guests to appropriate equipment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Accurately complete rental agreements, related documents, and ensure proper signatures are secured to minimize risk.
  • Use guests given information to accurately determine appropriate DIN setting for releasable bindings per manufacturer recommendations 100% of the time.
  • Speak with guest regarding needed repairs and help guide their decision for best course of action. Follow through on all services to be performed to help ensure that repairs are finished on time and as promised.
  • Help coordinate with Ski School for the learn-to-ski programs.
  • Organize school fittings and create labels in preparation for their assigned day.
  • Perform all back shop duties to include waxing, edge work, basic tunes, & stone tunes.
  • Operate ASTM ski testing device to perform random in-season and pre-season testing of binding systems.

RETAIL

  • Be familiar using the inventory software to perform basic retail functions including price changes and adding products to hot keys, etc.
  • Learn and exhibit knowledge about the current retail products sold in the shop to explain and sell them to customers. Including looking up SKU.
  • Maintain and organize the retail area ensuring retail displays are stocked and the area is free of clutter, dirt, dust, and debris.
  • Assist leadership in developing creative retail displays that fit the SMO décor and ambiance.
  • Report when any product becomes low or out of stock to leadership.
  • Assist Manager in running quarterly inventory and ensure accurate counts.
  • Ensure accurate inventory counts.
  • Ensure back stock storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Remain constantly attentive and engaged assisting guests, cleaning, stocking, and organizing the retail area.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In absence of SMO Manager and SMO supervisor, Lead Rental Specialist must be able to lead and manage a team of up to 15 Rental Specialists and all other duties associated with running SMO.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • High School diploma. Must have worked 2 years as a Rental Specialist level 1 or have previous experience equivalent to 2 years' experience in a rental setting.
  • Must have basic computer & word processing skills to include internet, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Binding manufacturer certifications. To be obtained during training.

This job requires specific vision abilities, including close vision and color vision. Must be able to be on their feet for up to the entire scheduled shift.
