Please note: This posting is for a 4-or 8 month Student Winter 2027 placement with a start date of January 11, 2027 and end-date of April 30, 2027 or August 20, 2027.

In order to be eligible for this Winter Co-op Student position, you must either:

Be returning back to school after the work term end-date in August 2027/December 2027; or

If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027/August 2027), but you require the work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully.

Please ensure that you meet these eligibility requirements before applying - candidates who apply but are found to be ineligible are not able to be considered.

What is the opportunity?

Are you a detail-oriented student with a curiosity for risk management, compliance and governance?

We’re seeking a Risk & Governance Analyst to join our Personal Banking team and play a key role in defining, developing, and documenting business requirements, as well as designing and implementing analytics and reporting solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, contribute to strategic problem-solving, and enhance our risk management practices.

What will you do?

Depending on your placement, you may:

  • Work with business partners to define, develop, and document detailed business requirements.
  • Lead/participate in the design, implementation, and management of new analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Design and produce regular ad-hoc reports dashboards and develop product or service knowledge and competence in tools and business processes used in the department.
  • Utilize strategic problem solving tactics and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhance analysis, and streamline reporting.
  • Contribute to the articulation of results, conclusions, and memos of regulatory activities and communicate to key stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to defined projects or tasks under direct supervision & Document processes or upgrade existing procedure manuals.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, event planning and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting software.
  • Passion for risk management and governance.

Nice-to-have (varies by placement):

  • Experience with data visualization or automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
