The role of a Wind Turbine Generator Sales Manager directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As a WTG Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving growth and hitting sales targets by designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence while keeping our company competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, crafting sales plans and justifying those plans to the upper management, directing and overseeing our sales policies, objectives and initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Supports wind turbine sales activities for assigned market/geographic segment and customer accounts defined by the VP of Sales, North America.
  • Identifies wind turbine sales opportunities with Developers, Independent Power Producers, Infrastructure Funds and Utilities through market research, customer meetings, active prospecting, and participation in key industry events.
  • Serves as one of the points of contact for receipt and development of detailed wind turbine sales proposals related to assigned market segment and customer accounts. This includes the coordination of NDA’s, technical compliance/suitability, RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, and final quotation preparation.
  • Performs detailed cost of energy (COE) analysis and economic modeling against competing OEM price and performance.
  • Coordinates sales proposals with the VP of Sales as well as Engineering, Wind & Site Engineering, Finance, Project Management and O&M Services to maximize customer value.
  • Supports VP of Sales on project reviews (Gate process), presentations, and contract negotiations for Turbine Supply and O&M Service agreements in coordination with Engineering, Project Management, Services, Legal and Finance teams.
  • Manages in a highly professional manner all customer communications throughout the sales process including internal and external reporting.
  • Represents the company at industry trade shows, conferences and customer meetings.
  • Travels to project sites and regular customer meetings required (approximately 30% of the time).


WHAT YOU HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, technical sales or sales support required. Previous wind industry experience is highly valued.
  • BS degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline or a demonstrated electrical and mechanical/technical aptitude required, or related work experience; MBA is a plus
  • Ability to perform technical, economic and financial modeling.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of project management, contract administration, profitability analysis, budgeting and compliance.
  • Excellent communications skills, organizational ability and positive leadership required.
  • Ability to successfully interface with the customer at all levels, including executive, development, technical, construction management and service departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Fluency in Spanish/German a plus; English and French proficiency is a requirement.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.

  • Fluency in Spanish/German a plus
  • French proficiency is a requirement.
  • Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.

The pay for this role is exempt at 140,000 CAD-170,000 CAD with up to a 50% bonus. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
