About the role
AGL’s Renewables team based at the Wattle Point Wind Farm are looking for a Wind Service Technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our wind farms across South Australia and Victoria, helping deliver AGL’s vision for a sustainable future.
Location: Based at the Wattle Point Wind Farm, l ocated 3 kilometres southwest of Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. This site has been operational since 2005 and generates enough renewable energy to power about 50,000 average Australian homes.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on maintaining and servicing wind farm assets to ensure reliability, safety, and optimal performance.
Perform routine and breakdown maintenance, servicing, inspection, and monitoring of wind farm assets
Prepare work records and reports, including input into SAP
Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems and AGL’s safety standards
Conduct Hazard Risk Analysis and Job Safety Analysis as required
Ensure compliance with Safe Access Rules and participate in toolbox and safety meetings
Receive Access Authorities and progress to Recipient In Charge (RIC) if required
Supervise contractors and service providers to ensure safe and high-quality work
Provide and receive on-the-job training, mentoring team members to maintain high skill and safety standards
Demonstrate AGL values by collaborating across the business and contributing to overall success
You’re a skilled technician with a strong mechanical or electrical background, passionate about renewable energy and safety.
Electrical (Preferred) OR Mechanical Trade qualification (with a “disconnect reconnect” licence preferred but not required).
HV certification (preferred)
Experience with HV/LV systems, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in industrial, commercial, or residential environments
Understanding of wind farm operations and maintenance for safe, efficient performance
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration
Self-motivated with excellent time management and ability to work independently and in a team
Valid Victorian or South Australian driver’s license (depending on asset location)
Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces
Additional desirable qualifications: GWO training, working at heights, manual handling, HV/LV rescue, fire awareness, first aid.
