Job Description

Job Title: Wind Blade Field Service Technician

Location: Madrid (Spain)

Terms: permanent-discontinuous contract

As TPI is on a continuous growth path in the European Union, we are looking for new Wind Blade Field Service Technicians (f/m/d) to support the whole EMEA region.

Role:

  • Field technician is responsible for carrying out repairs on wind turbine blades on site.
  • Available to work displaced out of Spain or Europe.
  • Able to work at heights.
  • Responsible for following all procedures and technical indications.
  • Obliged to comply with the established safety regulations and protection instructions.

You should be able to:

  • follow and ensure implementation of instructions, procedures and notifications on health, safety, environment, and security as required by the site
  • determine the incompliances and areas of improvement during the work and report them to managers to support feedback
  • make sure that the grinding, sanding and cutting equipment used in Repairs / Revisions are clean and in working order
  • maintain safe work environment and work in heights with different access methods
  • evaluate performance, report issues to managers and takes role in the implementation of corrective & preventive action
  • assist reporting of field service works, personnel, equipment and planning
  • take photographs of Repair / Revision steps and report on business instructions

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with composite materials
  • Experience with composites manufacturing, technologies & processes
  • Valid GWO BST certification (FA, MH, FAW, WAH&R)
  • GWO Blade repair training or Blade B Preferably Blade C or D certification
  • Confined Spaces
  • LOTO (lockout/Tagout) training
  • Prevention Officer (PRL 60 / OSHA)
  • IRATA certification. Preferred Level 2 or 3
  • Driving license: Minimum B license is required in Europe, C1, C or B+E is an advantage.
  • Travel and work displaced, sometimes out of Spain or Europe
  • Team player, strong communicator and good customer-facing skills
  • English knowledge (B-Level or equivalent)

RECOMENDABLE TRAININGS:

  • NDT Training (UT)
  • WT service lifts trainings
  • GWO BTT/ Equivalent electrician training/ qualification
  • Other OEM trainings/Certificates is an advantage (Vestas SIT/BTO, GE LOTO/EA 1X, 2X, 3X and ECO platforms)
  • Suspended platforms training
