The team

Described as “knowledgeable,
professional and personal” and ranked highly by the Legal 500, the department
advises on a wide spectrum of private client matters, predominantly acting for
high-net-worth individuals and business owners. We are proud that the team has
gone from strength to strength in recent years and has developed a reputation
for being one of the most capable teams in the region, including being ranked in the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide.

Typical matters include

• Preparation of tax efficient
  wills
• Inheritance tax mitigation and
  asset protection advice
• Use of lifetime trusts, often in
  connection with Family Investment Companies
• Administration of estates (very
  typically taxable estates or estates with some complicating factor)
• Administration of trusts
• Preparing and Registering Lasting
  Powers of Attorney
• Applications to the Court of
  Protection

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an established
Wills, Trusts & Probate Partner with strong private client experience
at either a national or top tier regional firm.

Candidates are required to have
exceptional knowledge of all areas of probate law and experience of providing
high quality advice to a range of clients. The successful candidate will have
the ability to play a lead role on clients matters and effectively
supervise junior members of the team. We would expect the successful candidate
to have top quality connections in the market and, ideally, a degree of
client following. We would expect the successful candidate to be STEP
qualified.

Candidates will need to
demonstrate high levels of technical skill and the ability to maintain strong
client relationships. Candidates are also required to demonstrate how they can
promote the WTP team and other legal services offered by the firm to existing
and new target clients and obtain referrals from contacts and referrers.

The position would suit someone
with a good academic background and training who is looking to further develop
their career. Working within one of the North West’s leading Private Client teams, they will be required to work well with experienced professionals within a team-orientated environment whilst maintaining high work standards.
