Wildlife Assistant

Dogwood Canyon is looking for a Wildlife Assistant to support the daily care, handling, and well-being of animals in a wildlife, rehabilitation, or conservation setting. This role assists with feeding, habitat maintenance, health monitoring, and enrichment activities while ensuring a safe environment for both animals and staff.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with daily animal care, including feeding, watering, and observing behavior

· Evaluate and check herd during shift

· Clean and maintain animal enclosures and work areas to ensure proper hygiene and safety

· Monitor animal health and report any changes in behavior, appetite, or condition

· Assist with handling and restraint of animals as directed by supervisors

· Support facility operations, including preparing supplies and maintaining farm equipment

· Ability to work on multiple property farms

· General maintenance of properties as needed

Working Conditions:

· Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

· Exposure to animal waste, noise, and odors

· Involves heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Knowledge and experience working with farm animals

· Interest in wildlife, conservation, or animal care

· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed and based on season
