Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Wireless Network Engineer with a strong background in enterprise wireless infrastructure and network operations to support the delivery and maintenance of large-scale networking environments. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners — including network operations, service desk, and infrastructure teams — to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure that wireless solutions align with business and operational objectives.

This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and is comfortable working with complex network systems, authentication frameworks, and enterprise-grade wireless technologies.

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid – 2–3 days in office)
Contract Length: 9 Months (Extension Possible)
Hours: 9 AM–5 PM PST

Pay: $50-55 on W2

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a senior escalation point for wireless incidents originating from service desk and network operations teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex wireless performance, connectivity, and authentication issues in enterprise environments.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive incident resolution in alignment with SLAs and operational standards.
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot wireless infrastructure including Cisco WLCs (9800 series), Juniper Mist, and Meraki platforms.
  • Perform software upgrades, configuration changes, and lifecycle maintenance across wireless environments.
  • Conduct wireless site surveys (pre- and post-deployment) and perform onsite diagnostics and remediation.
  • Analyze RF performance, coverage, and interference, providing actionable recommendations for optimization.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot wireless authentication solutions including 802.1X, EAP, and RADIUS.
  • Support and manage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement.
  • Configure and troubleshoot access-layer networking including VLANs, trunking, access ports, and PoE.
  • Utilize CLI tools to diagnose Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues impacting wireless services.
  • Plan and execute network changes following structured change management processes, including risk assessment and rollback planning.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and support guides for operational teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation, testing, and continuous improvement of network services.
  • Provide on-call or after-hours support for critical incidents and maintenance activities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of progressive network engineering experience, preferably within enterprise or large-scale environments.
  • Proven experience delivering and supporting wireless infrastructure initiatives across at least one of the following areas:
  • Enterprise Wireless Networks: Cisco WLCs, Access Points, RF design, and performance optimization.
  • Cloud-Managed Wireless Platforms: Juniper Mist and/or Meraki environments.
  • Network Security & Authentication: 802.1X, EAP, RADIUS, and Cisco ISE implementations.
  • Strong understanding of network operations and incident management in an escalation-driven environment.
  • Hands-on experience with access-layer switching, VLAN configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with CLI-based troubleshooting across Cisco and Juniper networking devices.
  • Experience with documentation tools and platforms to create operational and technical artifacts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or global network environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP Wireless, CWNA, Juniper Mist, or Meraki certifications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or structured IT operations frameworks.
  • Experience conducting wireless site surveys and producing detailed RF analysis reports.

Notes for Applicants
Resumes must clearly demonstrate hands-on experience with enterprise wireless technologies (Cisco, Juniper Mist, Meraki), as well as network authentication and troubleshooting experience.
