2026-05-11This part-time, non-benefit-eligible appointment carries a stipend and requires an on-campus presence seven weeks during the Spring 2027 semester.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • On each visit, lecture and discuss with students in the co-taught with Dr. Michael Hicks’ PHL310: “Thinking: Minds and Machines” course.

  • Give two public lectures.

  • Participate in two student events (one career oriented).

  • Visit a number of additional courses where your expertise in AI Ethics would enhance student instruction.

  • Provost consultation to the Miami Thrive committee on disruptive technologies.

  • Provide consultation to the Philosophy Department with respect to the AI I the major initiative.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Ph.D. by date of appointment; experience with teaching and research in Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
