Focus of the role?

As a Wideband and Dark Fibre Constructor Operative, you will undertake a broad range of end-to-end construction, integration, testing and commissioning activities across Telstra’s telecommunications network infrastructure. You will contribute to the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality network outcomes by building, augmenting and commissioning Wideband and Dark Fibre infrastructure in line with documented processes, technical standards and customer commitments.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • You will manage your assigned workload with a high level of accountability, working independently or as part of a team to deliver work on time, to the expected standard and in support of key business performance indicators.
  • This includes maintaining accurate records in relevant Databases of Record, supporting network integrity, engaging effectively with stakeholders and subcontractors, and contributing to a market-leading customer experience through quality delivery and reliable service outcomes.
  • You will also demonstrate strong HSE leadership by taking reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, complying with Telstra policies, standards and procedures, and supporting safe field execution across metropolitan, rural and remote work environments where required

About You

You are someone who can work independently, manage your own workload, and deliver quality outcomes. You have strong customer focus, good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Appropriate ACA Cabling Licence
  • Experience or knowledge in optic fibre hauling, pit and pipe construction is highly desirable.
