Job Location SLAHP Main Office - Inglewood, CA 90303 Position Type FT 100% - 40 hours per week (FT Benefit) Salary Range $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly

About Us:

The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is an independent, non-profit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. In dozens of laboratories throughout the campus, researchers are working to unravel the mysteries of heart and kidney disease, cardiac complications in newborns, chronic lung disease, skin cancer, sickle cell disease, disorders of the autoimmune system, and much more. Many of these projects are collaborative in nature, involving experts from different areas of specialization. Our discoveries have prevented blindness in newborns, enabled premature infants with fragile lungs to breathe and allowed children with rare, often fatal diseases to grow up healthy and strong.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 6 months facilities maintenance and customer service experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of facility and warehouse maintenance procedures and cleaning equipment as well as shipping/receiving, inventory control and general site safety and security procedures

of Duties

  • Performs daily site maintenance and facility services including, but not limited to: cleaning and disinfecting lavatories, hallways, classrooms, offices, windows, windowsills, as well as picking up trash as needed
  • Cleans and maintains floors by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, buffing, or waxing according to site maintenance schedule
  • Makes minor repairs at WIC site as needed
  • Moves light furniture and equipment as directed; maintains organized use of chairs for various activities in classrooms
  • Observes all visitors for appropriate behavior and performs crowd control among WIC Program participants, their children and other visitors
  • Identifies and assesses potential safety hazards to WIC staff and participants and quickly cleans spills and repairs equipment and furniture as needed to avold accidents
  • Provides site security by monitoring parking lot and entrances to the site and discouraging street vendors from blocking access to the site
  • Monitors and secures exterior doors and windows as well as arming/disarming facility alarm system
  • Receives, stores and maintains inventory of janitorial supplies from warehouse
